Are there greater than 5 stars available? This place really takes care of you! We were promptly seated. Our server was excellent. Her attention to detail was chefs kiss throughout the entire experience. It's been about a week so I forgot her name but she had short blonde hair and nice nails! I brought my team here for a team dinner. The place is beautiful on the inside. Expectations were high before we had a chance to sit down. We ordered sangrias. They arrived quickly. (They were a little dry for my taste but I love the sweeter taste for sangria. My team loved them though!). We ordered this asador experience. It was $85 a person and well worth every penny and then some. We had a little charcuterie board, bread with mushrooms, this little plate of stuffed olives, a green bean salad, scallops, branzino, lamb, carrots, and two desserts. Yes, two. Oooh and how can I forget the lil espresso martini! This place was so good it's the restaurant of my dreams. My dad lives in Bilbao (Basque Country in Spain) and this food is ON point! I can't wait to travel back to Atlanta to try it. One more thing - they literally come by like ninjas to clean any table spills. It makes the restaurant feel another level elevated compared to other spots in the area. TLDR: do not miss out on this restaurant. Excellent service, beautiful restaurant, incredible food. I have 0 complaints... and I am picky with food.
I love the vibe of this place. They have Valet parking but it's paid parking. The service was amazing! I came in with a group of 9. We split into groups of 3 to order many different tapas to try. I recommend going here with a group of people so you can try several dishes. It's pricey but worth it with a group of people. I love how open and large the space is. Great for events and celebrations!
What an amazing dinner! Came here for my birthday with my wife and we enjoyed the entire experience from start to finish. We opted to do the tapas for dinner and enjoyed every dish we ordered as they were all unique and excellent. The quality was outstanding and our server Laura was absolutely fabulous. She had a perfect balance of helpful but not overly attentive which made the night and meal just splendid indeed. Each tapa course was explained and described in detail upon serving to our table and we literally enjoyed every bite. Wife got a wine and I had a semi sweet cocktail which were splendid. Our server Laura was very thoughtful and even broughtynwife two samples of wine which were both wonderful and let her select which she preferred. Dessert was also great and they even brought us a bonus chocolate ice cream which was a nice touch to an already spectacular meal. Overall we were very pleased with our meal and the entire experience. I recommend coming a little early (we came at 6) as it can get crowded once it hits 7. There is a self parking deck which we couldn't find so we parked with valet. You can pay with cash or over your phone. Parking fee is $10 plus tip. 5 solid Stars for Cooks and Soldiers and 2 thumbs way up! Thank you for a fascinating birthday meal. We will return.
I'd been telling hubby I wanted a good whole branzino so he researched and came across this restaurant because supposedly they have some of the best branzino in the city. Let me just say that's totally accurate! The branzino is absolutely amazing! It's prepared perfectly and seasoned to perfection. You can get them to filet it, cook it whole, or take the head or tail off if you'd like. We had it whole and it was a nice portion that we both ate off of. We got the patatas bravas as well and they were so tasty, crispy on the outside but soft on the inside with yummy flavor. It was a great addition to the fish. We also ordered the arroz con mariscos. While the butter poached lobster and crab in the rice were delicious, the rice itself wasn't the best to me. It was pretty hard but I'm not sure if it's suppose to be prepared like that or not. The cocktails we had were good too. I had the paper tiger and my husband had some type of gin cocktail. The ambiance is nice and the service was pretty good as well. We both raved about our dinner all weekend and will definitely be back for the branzino and cocktails.
Cooks & Soldiers is a Basque tapas spot, very conveniently located across the street from my hotel, the Bellyard. I had made a reservation about a month in advance, but they do have a bar so I don't think you'll have trouble getting a spot for an early dinner if you just walk in. They sat me at a table, despite the bar being open, so I really appreciate that. My waitress was great - she gave wonderful recommendations and answered all my questions about the menu. I had two dishes and it was more than enough for just me. The Arroz con Mariscos was a pretty big portion and was definitely jammed packed with goodies like giant chunks of butter poached lobster. The artichoke was woody and Smokey and came with the best sauce. I also had a mocktail, the El Carino, which has strawberry, basil syrup, lemon, and ginger beer. It was lovely - super tart and very refreshing.
Really impressed with this basque influenced tapas hub in the heart of west midtown. Wait staff were super attentive and made sure there were NO empty glasses. The food was something else. Have been to plenty of tapas bars around the city and the food here was traditionally prepared but was incredibly flavorful. Definitely embodies the soul of San Sebastián. Will definitely be back!
Yes please!!!! Came to Cooks & Soldiers with a group of coworkers and we had a lovely time! Service was friendly, efficient, and quick, the food was plentiful and delicious, and we all left completely stuffed and ready to pass out. We ordered a ton of items to share. The Pork Cheek Croquetas were a crowd pleaser as was the Octopus, Seafood Rice, Potatoes, and Mushroom Bread. The shrimp was solid and I personally wasn't as into the Feuillete as much, but half of the table was. Then came the mains. The steak was cooked just the way we wanted it (medium rare) and quite juicy. I loved the Branzino, which had excellent flavors. All the vegetable sides were good as well, though the Grilled Sweet Potato was the clear winner. We also tried the three desserts. Unfortunately these didn't wow as much as the main courses, but I did enjoy the peanut crumble on the Basque Sundae quite a bit. Had an amazing time and will definitely be back the next time I'm in town!
Very impressed with our dinner last night! We made a reservation but it wasn't too crowded on a Tuesday evening. I'd imagine the weekends get crazy busy though. Our waiter was great. Attentive and informative! They have some creative tapas! We got the bikini, chistorra envuelta and the lamb. The bikini was basically a fancy grilled cheese! Very yum. The chistorra envuelta was like a bougie pigs in a blanket! These were incredible. Next time, I'd order a plate just for me! The lamb was so flavorful! So many good things to pick from!
Seven of us had dinner at Cooks and Soldiers on a Saturday night and we unanimously thought the experience was excellent! It's a tapas-style restaurant with wood-fire grilled proteins. We toyed with the option of doing the pre-fixe meal for $85, which included four tapas, salad, a charcuterie tray, ribeye, branzino, and dessert. But, given some dietary issues in our party such as shellfish and dairy allergies, we thought that the price wouldn't be justified as our waiter shared that they were inflexible about catering to those needs. We ended up ordering seven tapas: Bikini - upscale grilled cheese with jamon iberico and black truffle Mountain bread - house baked bread with za'atar Christorra envuelta - a cider glazed croissant with sausage Piquillo relleno - Piquillo pepper stuffed with beef, ham, cheese Vieras - scallops with crispy pork belly Gambas al ajillo - red shrimp with garlic and lemon Arroz con mariscos - rice with seafood (crab and lobster) We also got the charcuterie and cheese board, haricot verts, patatas bravas, alcachofas, ribeye, and whole branzino. The food here was outstanding! We loved the za'atar bread so much so that we ordered a second loaf. We ended up loving the other dishes with breads too including the upscale grilled cheese sandwich and croissant stuffed with christorra sausage. The seafood dishes - seafood rice, shrimp, scallops, and branzino - had so much flavor and the ribeye was seasoned such that we didn't really need the bordelaise sauce or chimichurri! Desserts including the chocolate tart with dark chocolate gelato and basque cheesecake - were good but the tapas and proteins were where they shined. Service was great as well. I would definitely come back to C&S! Our friend who had been there before definitely made the right recommendation for us. My only issue with this place is that they weren't willing to alter the Grand Asador Experience to meet the dietary needs of our table. They definitely lost money on our group by not allowing us to order this meal.
This place is amazing, we always come and sit at the bar because the way they make their cocktails is like an art! We only got a few items and you know that mushroom toast is always the number 1 go to item! There were pork croquettes, they were good but super small portion for the dollar amount. The lobster rice dish is 100% worth every penny. It has poached crab under and full of flavor. The green sauce was some kind of aioli but it was so yummy with the rice. Usually we sit and have a few drinks, talk to bartenders but we were in a hurry. They were super quick and helpful since you always ask what they recommend. I think there is valet parking below that may be $5. To be honest parking cost anywhere in the area- so if it's only five dollars that is not too bad!
